Thank you everyone who supported me in this journey it has been a wonderful experience and I appreciate everyone that should me and my team support.

Since I came to Woodstock in 1998, our city has changed dramatically. We have seen major industrial growth, new neighbourhoods, population increases, expanded traffic pressures, changing recreation needs, and growing concerns around housing, homelessness, downtown safety, and affordability.
Woodstock has become a stronger and more important regional city — but in many ways, our planning, infrastructure, recreation facilities, and public services have struggled to keep pace with that growth.
The arrival of Toyota and other major employers helped transform our local economy. New families have moved here, new homes have been built, and our city has continued to expand. That growth brings opportunity, but it also brings responsibility. Roads, parks, recreation, transit, downtown investment, bylaw enforcement, and city services all need to match the needs of a growing community.
One of the biggest frustrations residents raise is the division of responsibility between Woodstock City Council and Oxford County Council. Yes, Oxford County controls important services like waste management, water and wastewater, housing, and social services. But that does not mean Woodstock City Council is powerless.
City Council still has a major role to play in local roads, parks, recreation, city facilities, planning decisions, local bylaws, budgeting, downtown priorities, and advocating strongly for Woodstock residents at the County level.
My view is simple: residents do not want finger pointing between levels of government. They want leadership, accountability, and results.
As a candidate for Woodstock City Council, I believe we need to focus on:
Responsible Growth
Growth must be planned properly, with roads, recreation, services, and infrastructure keeping pace.
Value for Taxpayers
Every dollar matters. Council must ask better questions, review spending carefully, and make decisions that deliver real value.
A Stronger Downtown
Our downtown should be safe, clean, active, business-friendly, and treated as one of Woodstock’s greatest assets.
Better Recreation Planning
As our city grows, families need access to modern, affordable, and accessible recreation spaces.
Stronger Advocacy at the County Level
When an issue falls under Oxford County, Woodstock still needs a strong voice at the table fighting for our residents.
Common-Sense Leadership
No excuses. No passing the buck. Just honest work, practical solutions, and a commitment to making Woodstock stronger.
Woodstock has come a long way since 1998. Now we need leadership that is prepared for where our city is going next.
Let’s build a city that works for families, seniors, businesses, young people, and taxpayers — not just today, but for the next generation.

Authorized by the Joe Brown for Woodstock City Councillor Campaign

I was born in 1973 in St. Thomas, Ontario, and raised in a family that believed strongly in community service and giving back. My grandfather, known to many as “Big Red,” was both a champion boxer and Chief of Police, while my father proudly followed a career in law enforcement with the St. Thomas Police Force. My mother, a member of the well-known Melville family, built her career with Bell Canada. As the youngest of four children, I learned early the value of hard work, independence, and determination.
At 17 years old, I began a career in television that would span almost three decades. In 1998, that career brought me to Woodstock to manage the Rogers TV station. What started as a professional opportunity quickly became something much more—it became home.
Woodstock is also where I met my wife, Sandra. Her unwavering support, strength, and partnership have been the foundation of our family. Together, we have raised two remarkable young adults, Isabel and Carter, who continue to inspire us every day and remind us of the importance of building a strong community for future generations.
Giving back has always been important to me. Over the years, I have volunteered with organizations such as the Alzheimer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Woodstock Minor Football Association. I have also had the privilege of serving on the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Today, I continue my community involvement as a member of the City of Woodstock Recreation & Leisure Committee and as Executive Director of the Woodstock Wolverines Football Program.
I am running for Woodstock City Council because I believe in listening to residents, supporting families, strengthening our community, and ensuring every voice is heard. Woodstock has given so much to my family and me, and I want to continue serving the community that we proudly call home.
